Have you ever wanted to learn some massage techniques for use at home on your family and friends?

Have you often thought that by having some skills in massage it would enhance your clinical practice?

If you have had these thoughts, then you are exactly like I was 32 years ago (wow that makes me sound old – haha!). Back then, I was a spritely 19-year-old, and I learnt various schools of massage, whilst also studying an acupuncture degree. What I learnt was that Chinese Acupressure Massage (CAM), or Tuī Ná, was my preferred massage style.

Why? Because it gave me so many different massage techniques that came under the umbrella of Tuī Ná. Thereby, providing me with different massage skills to accommodate a wider range of patients and their conditions.

So, what will you be learning in this four-workshop series?

CAM 1/ Tuī Ná 1:

  • A range of beginner Tuī Ná techniques (day 1)

  • A range of Tuī Ná treatments (days 2 and 3):

    o Seated-chair
    o Neck/shoulders/Deltoid/Traps/Levator Scapula o Low back
    o Scalp.

CAM 2/ Tuī Ná 2:

  • A range of intermediate Tuī Ná techniques (day 1)

  • A range of Tuī Ná treatments (days 2 and 3):

o Upper Back and Mid-back – Traps, Levator Scapula, Rhomboids o Arms – upper arm/elbow/forearm/hands
o Legs – hamstrings and calves
    o Feet.

CAM 3/ Tuī Ná 3:

  • A range of advanced Tuī Ná techniques (day 1)

  • A range of Tuī Ná treatments (days 2 and 3):

    o Legs – quads/knees
o Low Back and Buttocks o Whole Body – Front
    o Whole Body – Back.

CAM 4/ Tuī Ná 4:

  • A range of Tuī Ná treatments – 1st Aid for Common Disorders – these will be selected from some (not all) of the systems below:

o Mental and Emotional – including insomnia
    o Digestive/Bowel – including heartburn/reflux/indigestion o Headaches
    o Musculoskeletal and Sports Injuries
    o Respiratory
    o Reproductive/Menstrual
    o Neurological.

NOTE: The CAM workshop series can be done in any order, although it does make sense to work through from 1-4. Participants can also choose to do some, and not all, of the workshops in the series.

NOTE 2: Each of the workshops will equate to about 25 hours of continuing professional development, or CPD. That will be roughly 17 live in-person CPD and 8 CPD that will be across workbooks, videos, and online content. Therefore, there is the potential for 100 CPD hours across the series.
